Name: Amanda Distefano, LSBID #1371
Company: Cushman & Wakefield
Position: Director of Project Management
We are honored to highlight Amanda Distefano as November’s Member of the Month. Amanda has been an IIDA Delta Regional Member for 6 years. She has served on the IIDA Delta Regional Board as VP of Forms in 2015-2016 and VP of Professional Development in 2016-2017.
Amanda’s current position as Director of Project Management for Cushman & Wakefield has given her the opportunity to work with a client in early conceptual stages to develop Workplace and Real Estate Strategies for them as an interior designer and then to implement these strategies by leading the client’s project management team in planning and executing renovations and new builds. Amanda is able to take a concept from the very beginning, through design, and then fully implement all aspects of construction.
“Not only do Interior Designers excel at space planning and interior details as you may see in a firm environment, but we are also able to bring that ‘designer eye’ to all aspects of construction and facility management to creatively problem-solve a variety of issues. My positions in Project Management on the client/Facilities side have allowed colleagues and coworkers to realize that an Interior Designer’s inherent skillset is beneficial to much more than just the design of interior space.”
