Libby Gillen grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. With a love of fine arts, Libby decided to pursue a degree in interior design and graduated from Syracuse University . She practiced Interior Design in the facilities department at John Handcock HQ and then moved between Chicago and Boston working for top firms in the architecture and interior industry.

In 1999, Libby moved back to Chicago to explore a sales support role for a global flooring company.  She worked as a liaison between sales, marketing, product development and interior designers.  In this role, she was able to teach designers about carpet specification, manufacturing and customization.  She also worked with the Account Executives to effectively consult with the design community. Libby held diverse roles in brand management, custom product and customer experience with other manufacturers.

Libby has been with Tarkett for 13 years.  Prior to being appointed Vice President of Strategy, Architecture and Design, she was working as an Account Executive for Tarkett in Chicago and most recently, Austin, TX.  She utilized her design, marketing and product knowledge to consult with clients to find the appropriate Tarkett resilient or soft flooring solutions.
